Lanyon Holiday Park Access Statement
Introduction:
Lanyon Holiday Park is situated in the heart of the Cornish countryside. The nearest public transport is 500 meters away in the village of Four Lanes, with pubs, shops, post office and public phone. The Park offers lodges, static caravans and touring pitches for RVs, touring caravans and tents, mostly on level ground. Our web site and colour brochure shows directions to the Park.
Arrival and Car Parking:
A tarmac road with a speed limit of 5mph leads visitors to Reception. Car parking is available next to most lodges and static caravans, together with designated car park. Parking is allowed on all touring pitches, mainly on grass.
Main Entrance and Reception:
The main entrance to the Park is via a public road from the village. Reception is 200 meters from the entrance with signposting. Car parking is available along the approach road and close to Reception on tarmac. Entrance to Reception is via a porch (one small step in, not wheelchair friendly) with Tourist Board information and other useful telephone numbers on display. A second door leads into Reception with laminate floor, two Reception desks, seating and a host of information about the area and places to visit. Opening hours in height of season are 8.30am until 7pm, shorter at any other times with 24 hour contact telephone number on display. Keys, information, maps and allocation of touring pitches take place here. Emergency telephone facility close by.
Touring and Tenting Amenities:
In the height of the season there are three blocks open offering toilet, showering and baby changing areas. Two offer washing up areas and one, open for the duration of touring dates, offers elsan and waste water disposal. None are fully accessible for wheelchair users.
Laundry Facilities:
There are three different locations for the use of washing machines, tumble dyers and ironing facilities. Two in amenity blocks and one to the rear of Reception with washing sink for cooking and eating utensils.
Bar, Food and Games Room:
Situated across from Reception, all at ground level. Bar food served during evenings, at the height of the season. Games room to the rear of the bar, open each day throughout all of the season. CCTV fitted.
Play Park and Swimming Pool:
Swimming pool at ground level, next to the bar. Heated April through to end of October. Access into pool via steps with handrail. Shallow end 1.1 meters, deep end 1.8 meters. No lifeguard on duty, no disabled facilities, hooks for clothing but shower/toilet and changing area in amenity block next to Reception 25 yards away. Play park behind games room. Swings, set on sand and other play equipment on grass. Open access.
Lodges and Static Caravans:
All accessed via at least two steps. Fully equipped. Two and three bedrooms. Minimum of one shower and toilet, some with more. Mostly double glazed with central heating (if this is a requirement please state on making booking enquiry).
Dog Exercise Area:
In a large grass paddock to the rear of the swimming pool. Purpose made bin for dog waste is provided at entrance/exit.
Storage Area:
In paddock to the rear of owners home with locked gates, bollards and CCTV coverage. Storage on plastic sheeting, surrounded by Cornish stone walls, uncovered and on grass. Vehicle access to area by agreement.
Future:
We continue to look for improvements. We shall be changing step access to some of our lodges and static caravans to ramps. Some hard standing for touring pitches is planned together with another elsan point. Some low level lighting in touring fields to be fitted.
